Strange Dogs Habit – The Story
Puppys are carnivores, but these creatures are irregularly seen eating lawn. Why do dogs eat grass? Is the dog hungry? Does the grass have substances that are not found in the dogs manufactured food? Have you ever wondered why the dog has suddenly determined that it is time for the lawn mower to give up work?
Grass eating is a normal canine manners though some owners would be shocked as some puppys do not exhibit this behavior. Wolves and foxes, the progenitors of the current day tame dogs eat all the part of their prey. The prey can be a plant eating animal. In the fierce, foodstuff is in short supply and the dogs will eat all parts of its prey. The grass and the plants in the intestines of the herbivores is eaten by the dog. Thus, lawn and plant life become a ordinary part of a dogs diet because dogs have acquired a taste for grass.
There is no definitive cause why present day dogs eat grass. Both healthy and sick dogs are seen occasionally munching blades of grass. Although it was speculated that because tame dogs no longer need to hunt to stay alive, the pattern of eating is nutrient deficit. A dog will have a meal grass to fill up the nutrient deficiency. This is probably the motive why some city dwellers offer their dogs with grass supplements. When you let the dog out to do its business in the yard the dog may take the opportunity to munch on a mouthful of grass. To the dog the lawn is one big salad plate.
Dogs eat nearly anything. To a dog the spoiled foodstuff in the waste cans, the animal poop, the unearthed dead animals are delicious delicacies. No doubt these animals suffer from abdomen upsets from time to time. A dog eats grass to stimulate vomiting. This is their way of expelling substances that do not agree with their digestive systems.
Owners need not be too concerned regarding the grass consumption tendency of their dog. It is after all better than eating poop. Though, it is vital for the dog owners to confirm that the grass is free from toxic chemicals that are destructive to the dog. Avoid the dog from chomping on a lawn that is newly sprayed with fertilizers, pesticides and herbicides. Besides, the dog may also eat particular kinds of mushroom that can poisonous to our furry companion. Several dogs may act as if they are eating grass when in fact they are simply sniffing the aroma of other animals to get to know information on who pass in their territories.
