Puppys are carnivores, but these creatures are irregularly seen eating grassland. Why do puppys consume grass? Is the dog hungry? A dog will have a meal grass to fill up the nutrient deficiency. This is most likely the motivation why some city dwellers provide their dogs with grass supplements. When you let the dog out to do its business in the yard the dog may take the chance to munch on a mouthful of grass. To the dog the lawn is one big salad plate.
Dogs eat almost anything. To a dog the spoiled food in the rubbish cans, the animal poop, the unearthed dead animals are delicious delicacies. No doubt these animals suffer from stomach upsets from time to time. A dog eats grass to produce vomiting. This is their way of expelling substances that do not agree with their digestive systems.
Owners need not be too concerned about the grass consumption pattern of their dog. It is after all better than eating poop. But, it is vital for the dog owners to make sure that the grass is free from toxic chemicals that are destructive to the dog. Avoid the dog from chomping on a lawn that is recently sprayed with fertilizers, pesticides and herbicides. What is more, the dog may also eat some kinds of mushroom that can poisonous to our furry buddy. A few dogs may act as if they are eating grass when in fact they are just sniffing the aroma of other animals to get to know information on who pass in their territories.
