Cat Tree Houses

Feb 9th, 2011 by Jessica Evans | 0

Cats are sweet, purring creatures— until they let out their claws that is! Cats have an innate tendency to scratch, a quality that their ancestors in the wild passed on to them so don’t even bother to scold them for it. Do you want to know a good way to keep your furniture safe from their sometimes lethal nails? Cat tree houses.

Cat tree houses are among the best cat equipment ever invented. You might be one of those people who think that cats don’t need a lot of stuff, just a big yarn and maybe a few mouse toys— you might want to order some ketchup when you get to eat your words after a few weeks of adopting your own kitty cat.

Sure, cats can pretty much take care of themselves when they have no choice, but there are several cat equipment that will really come in handy when the time comes. For example cat trees and cat predator toys are valuable things that will keep your cat’s mental prowess sharp and his claws, not so much.

There are several styles of cat houses that you can buy for your pet. Most of these homes have cubby holes and cute little perches that make it perfect for cats to lounge around, or maybe give them a good spot to pounce on you! Good thing we’re keeping the nails filed, right?

Speaking of nails, look for cat tree houses that are preferably made of wood. Wooden posts and walls make for great scratching surfaces for them. You will find nice tree houses in the links in this site that your cats are sure to love. If you have more than one pet cat, you should purchase one that is a little bigger or have two floors so they can have enough room to play around in.

If you want to have a softer surface, you can place some old blankets and small cushions inside the cat house. Old fleece fabrics are comfortable and durable materials that can decorate your cat’s abode nicely. If you get a house that is not made of wood, cover the posts of the house in rope—this also makes for an excellent scratching surface for cats.

Position your cat tree house in a place that is safe for your pet. Don’t place it near wires that your cat might get strangled in, or near electrical devices that will harm your pet. Make sure that the base is wide enough so it doesn’t topple over when your cat suddenly jumps on it. Also, clean and sanitize it every once in a while so that it doesn’t become a breeding ground for bacteria that can cause your cat to suffer from feline sicknesses.

These cat houses are a fantastic gift you can give any friend who has cats.  Not only are you giving their cats a nice place to live, you are giving their furniture a nice respite from the clawing. Cat tree houses—the gift that keeps on giving, buy one today.
